HPV vaccine
Human papillomaviruses can cause several oncologic diseases. Prophylactic vaccines protect cells from the virus entering the cells, by neutralizing antibodies, thus reducing the chance of oncologic diseases. Vaccination is recommended for girls and boys before they start sexual activities, young healthy women and women who have scheduled surgery for high grade cervical precancer leasion. Vaccination is also strongly recommended for group of men who have sexual intercourse with men. Vaccination is recommended from the age of 9. The vaccine should be selected with local epidemiologic situation of circulating genotypes in mind. More antigens in the vaccine increase assumption of the protection against cancer.
