News in diagnosis of breast disease

Breast cancer is still the most common malignant disease in the population of women in Slovakia and in Europe, worldwide. Etiology is unknown, early, rapid and correct diagnosis is a major factor in the fight against this disease. In Europe and the world through screening projects, in Slovakia as part of prevention. The review article aims to uncover novelties in classic diagnostic methods, to review new methodologies, and to draw attention to methods that do not have significant features in diagnostics, nevertheless they are used. Digital mammography is the gold standard and the first method of early diagnosis, supplementary methods such as sonography, biopsy, and magnetic resonance. Other methods significantly increase sensitivity but must be adequately indicated.
