NEOADJUVANT SYSTEMIC TREATMENT OF OPERABLE BREAST CANCER
Neoadjuvant (primary) systemic treatment (NST) is the standard treatment for locally advanced breast cancer and a standard option for primary operable disease. The aim of NST is to improve the surgical options (more breastconserving procedures), to determine the response to NST and to obtain longterm diseasefree survival. The optimal regimen and duration of NST have still not been defined.
