Treatment of metastatic castrate-resistant prostate cancer with enzalutamide
Objective: The main objective of the case report is to highlight the treatment options for patients with metastatic prostate cancer disease with good tolerance and quality of life with potential prolongation of overall survival. Case: We describe a case of a patient with initially diagnosed metastatic prostate cancer who, by early treatment with enzalutamide, provided the patient with good quality of life, without disease activity, with delaying the start of chemotherapy. Conclusion: The optimal sequence or combination of drugs used in the treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer is not known. In practice, we decide on the location of metastases, the extent of the disease, the rate of progression, symptomatology, co-morbidity and patient preferences, and last but not least the availability of individual medications.
