Oropharyngeal carcinoma

Oropharyngeal carcinoma represents the most common malignant disease of the pharynx. Oropharyngeal area is considered as accessibile for clinical examination, however the malignant disease is detected mainly in advanced stages. Despite progression in diagnostics and all patterns of oncological therapy, there is no united opinion for optimal management of oropharyngeal carcinoma nowadays. An independent positive prognostic factor proved to be HPV association.
