Phylloid tumor

Phyllode tumor (cystosarcoma phyllodes) is one of rare types of breast cancer (0,3 to 1 % of all breast neoplasis). This tumour has variable and usually benign potential. Malignant forms are less common, but they are locally aggressive and include distant metastasis. The article contains diagnostics, differential diagnosis and treatment options. The main therapeutic part of cystosarcoma phylloides is surgical removal. Axillary node involvement is rare, and axillary dissection is not indicated. The results with radiotherapy and chemotherapy are in these days insufficient.
