ENDOSCOPIC TREATMENT OF TIMELY ESOPHAGEAL NEOPLASIA

Rising incididence of esophageal cancer during last three decades (especially adenocarcinoma) lead to improvement of endobioptic dispenzarisation and increased number of diagnoses of early cancers and praecanceroses respectivelly. Based upon EUS and CT staging is endoscopic therapy is the method of choice. Indicated are dysplastic lesions and early cancers TiS and T1a without involvement of muscularis propria with preferentially low risk criteria. Endoscopic mucosectomy is prefered in unifocal lesions. Multifocal lesions are indicated for ablative techniques like argon plasma coagulation or photodynamic therapy.
