SURGICAL TREATMENT OF COLORECTAL LIVER METASTASES
Colorectal cancer metastatic to the liver with occurrence of 50 – 60 percent and unsatisfactory number of excised patients is still a problem. Surgical excision remains the best modality of treatment, 35 – 40 percent of such patients survive over five years. latest trends in liver surgery are the phased, combined and repeated operations. Using this method the operability increases by 20 – 40 percent. In case of an incorrect localization of metastatic focus, ablated methods of solution are used. good results depend on modern technique, tactics and specialized operating team.
