Surgical treatment of lung carcinoid

Carcinoid tumors are special group of neuroendocrine tumors and have better prognosis then in other malignancies. 5 years survival is 91 % and 10 years survival is 83 %. Surgical treatment is essential for these tumors and radical remove of them is needed. Special operations is sleeve resection / lobectomy, pneumonectomy/ and bronchoplasty. These operations are radical and do not compromise oncological principles of treatment.
