Adjuvant chemotherapy of colorectal cancer
Improving conditions of colorectal carcinoma diagnosis and screening have resulted in increasing number of diseases in their early stage. Frequently, clinical oncologists have to resolve questions regarding to adjuvant treatment of colorectal carcinoma, its benefits and they seek answers for patients about what kind of therapy is suitable for them considering the relevant health risks. Particularly the early diagnosed discase has shown the best prognostic indicators. Harmfulness of the disease and high percentage of its recurrence makes our results unsatisfactory. Algorithm of exact diagnosis, treatment (surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy) and evaluation of its effects keeps on forming the basis of oncology in general. However, the progress in this area hasn’t stopped, the genetic diagnosis has been developing as well as examination of circulating malignant cells and imaging modalities with the aim to define accurately the seriousness of disease, predictive and prognostic factors and subsegmently initiate of adjuvant treatment.
