Takotsubo syndrome and central nervous system
is a characteristic clinical feature. Acute neurological diseases are relatively frequently the triggering factors; thus, it is assumed that it is the central nervous system that plays a significant role in the pathophysiology. The review article aims to provide basic information on Takotsubo syndrome with a focus on the very likely pathophysiological mechanisms in the brain-heart axis.
