Methods of neurostimulation in the treatment of headaches
Headache is one of the most common neurological symptoms and may have many causes. According to the ICHD-3 (The International Classification of Headache Disorders 3rd edition), they are divided into three groups: primary headaches, secondary headaches, and painful cranial neuropathy and other facial pain and headaches. Pharmacological treatment of primary headaches is often difficult, insufficient and ineffective, and often carries various side effects. Recently, neurostimulation methods involving non-invasive and mini-invasive techniques, as well as deep brain stimulation, are used in patients with chronic primary headaches, which is used primarily in the treatment of chronic resistant cluster headache.
