Pharmacology, efficacy and safety of natalizumab in an extended interval dosing
Multiple sclerosis is a chronic disease that mainly affects young adults. Natalizumab is a highly effective treatment for the relapse-remitting form of this disease. Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy is a serious opportunistic infection associated with this monoclonal antibody. By extending the drug application intervals, we can reduce the risk of this infection in patients treated with natalizumab.
