Results of clinical research on therapy with Acnevac® in patients with acne vulgaris

The article presents the results of clinical research on treatment effectiveness of Acnevac® cps in the therapy of grade I – grade IV acne vulgaris. The research was conducted at four Departments of Dermatology in the Czech Republic from September 2011 to August 2012. The total number of patients was 83. The treatment lasted six months and involved four clinical examinations and photodocumentation. The research demonstrated efficacy of vaccine therapy of papulopustules in papulopustular acne in 88 % of patients. Worsening was noted in one patient who discontinued from the study. Twelve percent of patients remained unchanged. The p-value of Wilcoxon test between enrollment and the final examination was 9.7 × 10-12 in men and 2.18 × 10-13 in women (the difference is clearly statistically significant).
