Therapeutic options in resistent wound

An ulcer resisting therapeutic effort is a problem often met by a practical dermatologist. Failed healing may be due to improper locally applied treatment or due to insufficient elimination of the causative agent or condition. Improperly diagnosed ulcers are a special class of non-healing ones. In all above mentioned cases, repeated analysis of defect causes and healing interfering factors as well as of therapeutic regiment is necessary. In case of failed healing despite clear diagnose and proper treatment, the use of less common, less convenient or more expensive treatment methods may be advisable, such as surgury, negative pressure therapy, biodebridement.
