Scrotal calcinosis
Scrotal calcinosis represents in the form of a solitary lesion or multiple white-yellow nodules on scrotal skin. Dystrophic calcification of preexisting epidermal cysts or other types of cysts as well as dystrophic calcification of genital smooth muscle is supposed in its histogenesis. Other authors consider this entity as a primary idiopathic process. Authors present a case of 42-years old man with solitary scrotal calcinosis histologically manifested as calcium deposits in scrotal dermis, with perilesional granulomatous reaction. There were no epidermal or glandular structures. Authors assume that scrotal calcinosis is a final stage of calcified epidermal cyst with total resorption of its epithelial lining.
