Nanotechnology in medicine

Nanotechnology is an applique scientific division, proceeding manufacture and usage of correctly defined materials with strictly defined structure of nanometric size (10 -9m). Nanotechnology develops at atom, molecule and macromolecule levels in size of 1 to 100 nanometres. Nanostructures, nanotools and nanosystems possess new properties, new functions and may control and act at the atom level. Nanomedicine requires cooperation’s of various scientific disciplines, including biology, chemistry, physics, chemical and physical engineering, as well as scientific discipline of materials and clinical medicine. Nanotechnology in medicine can be used in various modalities as in monitoring, reconstruction of damaged tissue and to control biologic systems at molecule level. In intention to last, nanodevices and nanostructures performed for praxis. Nanopharmacology proceeds distribution of drugs and other substances in patient´s body. Nanotechnology facilitates target release of drug into damaged tissue. Lot of drugs trade on nanoparticles as their carriers, for example, antibiotics, antivirotics, antiparasite drugs, cytostatics, vitamines, proteins and peptides, enzymes and hormones. Nanodiagnostics proceeds with new diagnostic methods innovated with nanoparticles having higher level of recognition than standard diagnostic methods. Regenerative nanomedicine develops new biocompatible materials and tissue with regeneration properties to resolve damaged tissue in patient’s body using artificial structures or implant containing living cells. Nanotechnology proposes regular place in medicine and shares the level of our knowledge to higher degree.
