Exudate management according to up-to-date guidelines by World Union of Wound Healing Societies
Exudate can adversely affect wound healing if there are deviations in its quantity, composition and location. A wound with excessive production of exudate represents a complex problem for a patient. The standard in exudate management are dressings that aid in healing of wounds. A condition for the correct choice of dressing, is to determine the quantity and quality of the exudate. Efficient approach in exudate management is the key to optimal wound healing and improved quality of life of patients with chronic wounds.
