Management and overview of treatment of axillary hyperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis is a chronic disease that arises due to overstimulation of cholinergic receptors on eccrine glands. This disorder is characterized by sweating beyond the norm, that is, beyond the norm of homeostasis. Sweating is a physiological state essential for thermoregulation, excretion, and microbial protection. However, excessive amounts can lead to the aggravation of many skin diseases, discomfort, psychological deprivation, and social isolation, with a consequent significantly reduced quality of life. In order to treat hyperhidrosis effectively, it is essential to know its causes, mechanisms of occurrence, and consequences.
