Negative pressure wound therapy
Negative pressure wound therapy is an important approach to treatment of troublesome wounds. There are daily several thousands of treated patients every day worldwide. According to present experience, this is the ideal method for treatment of acute as well as chronic wounds (diabetic, venous and decubital ulcers). Debridement, which has to preceed negative pressure therapy, does not necessarily be of surgical way and the therapy enables healing of even problematic wounds. It may be a conservative solution of wounds, so far treatable only in surgical way. So far it is not completely clear how the system works and further research is needed.
