Acne treatment – currently approaches II.

Acne is one of the most common skin disease in adolescents. Its prevalence in industrial countries is high, estimated to be between 50- 90%. It is a non-infectious androgen- dependent genodermatosis involving pilosebaceous unit. Symptoms usually subside between 19th-26th ages. It still has acne symptoms in adulthood a certain percentage of men and women, often regardless of whether a teenager this disease occured. Long lasting acne is often cause psychological trauma and social isolation of the affected individual. Untreated or improperly treated acne leaves scars not only in the skin, but is often associated with persistent mental health problems. Treatment varies according to the different clinical forms, also depends on patient tolerance. Currently is based on available medical evidence and experts consensus. In view of the increasing resistence of causative bacteria to antibiotics and getting new knowledge about etiopathogenesis of acne, there is a need to develop new drugs.
