Gonorrhoea in Slovakia – case analysis of infections caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae and resistance review in 2012
Options for the first line therapy are limited because of increasing antibiotic resistance of Neisseria gonorrhoeae. Warning that gonorrhoea could be soon untreatable infection have been published in the literature. Consistent diagnosis and correctly chosen therapy is necessary for prevention of increasing resistance. The study presents ananalysis of the patients diagnosed with gonococcal infection and a resistance survey held in 2012.
