Skin in the context of haemato-lymphoid neoplasias
Primary cutaneous haemato-lymphoproliferative neoplasias are a relatively rare group of diseases. More often in dermatological practice we can encounter various specific or non-specific cutaneous manifestations of systemic haemato-lymphoproliferative diseases. Distinguishing primary cutaneous involvement from secondary manifestations requires interdisciplinary collaboration between the dermatologist, haematologist, pathologist and other specialists as appropriate. The vast array of hemato-lymphoproliferative neoplasias with skin involvement cannot be understood without an understanding of the broad pathogenetic context and basic clinical knowledge related to this probelamatology. Although the latest 5th edition of the 2022 WHO classification of hemato-lymphoid neoplasias includes primary cutaneous involvement among the axonal hemato-lymphoid neoplasias, these are not the focus of this review article.
