Compression therapy of venous lower leg ulcers
Compression is a standard approach to venous and even arterio-venous lower leg ulcer therapy. The most traditional and still topical method is a zinc paste bandage, the short stretch bandage is a standard treatment. Multi-layer compression systems are the modern way of compression. As for cost-benefit ratio, the compression stocking systems seem to be the most valuable possibility, but further research needs to be performed.
