Diagnostics and treatment of diabetic foot syndrome
Diabetic foot syndrome is a serious disease, often leading to limb amputation. Proper diagnosis and early therapy improves patient’s chance of preserving the limb. Recognition of early skin changes resulting from neuropathy leading to ulcer is extremely important. Concomitant ischemia implies rapid intervention. In diabetic patients it is important to keep in mind some specificity of clinical finding (lack of pain) and therapy. Interdisciplinary approach is mandatory.
