The diagnostic algorithm of alopecia
Hair loss is a common problem encountered in dermatology and requires a comprehensive therapeutic approach at the beginning of which is a precise differencial diagnosis. In the article, the autors aummarize the diagnostic algorithm of alopecia, which they supplement with rich photodocumentation. In general there is a detailed medical history in starting point, followed by physical and laboratory examinantion, supplemented by trichoscopy and biopsy if needed. Early and correct diagnosis and subsequent targeted treatment are crucial to the effect of treatment, control of disease activity and efforts to reverse irreversible hair loss.
