Compliance with topical therapy of skin diseases

Topical therapy is of cardinal importance in dermatology. It is efficacious and has a favourable safety profile, however, poor treatment outcomes from topical therapy regimens likely result from poor patients’ compliance and resulting ineffective use of the medication. By understanding and manipulating the factors that affect treatment adherence, better control and outcomes of the topical treatment of chronic skin diseases are likely.
