What is new in knowledge about NMSC
Incidence and prevalence of NMSC is increasing in recent years. It seems that this trend is permanent and will continue due to reaching prolonged age of population, early detection of tumors themselves, and various prevention campaigns. Excessive incidence of these diseases is associated worldwide with the high costs of treatment. The immunological and genetic research has shown the way to new therapeutic options for patients, many of whom were previously without appropriate treatment alternatives. Many of them are still in preliminary studies, but can be expected to soon become integral agents in armamentarium of skin cancer managing.
