Red papular lesion on finger of hand
Lobular capillary hemangioma (pyogenic granuloma) is a benign vascular lesion. It may arise at any age in either sex with predilection for the head, neck, limbs (arms and hands) and the mucous membranes. The lesion evolves rapidly, reaching its maximum size (usually less than 1 cm in diameter) within a matter of months. Clinically it presents as a pedunculated red nodule, which is prone to ulceration or bleeding. Histologically the lesion is well circumscribed with lobular arrangement of capillaries. The lesion is usually cured with simple excision.
