CRURAL ULCER

Crural ulcer belongs to diseases with increasing prevalence. It occurs mainly in the elderly population, however it is not exceptional even in young patients. In each age group crural ulcer causes specific medical, economical, social and psychologic problems. These are the reasons for increase attention of medical professionals paid to crural ulcer. The author describes in the article the treatment of crural ulcers including factors that influence healing in chronic wounds. Further on, ethiology and local therapy is discussed. It emphasizes that local therapy is a part of a complex approach to patients with crural ulcers.
