Balneotherapy of children in Natural Health Spa Smrdaky and assessment of its effect in children with atopic dermatitis

Authors of the article describe complex balneotherapy of children suffering from skin diseases in Natural Health Spa Smrdaky, which are well known because of hydrogen sulfide mineral springs. Children suffering from all noninfectious chronic skin diseases have been treating there for over 42 years. The majority of patients are children suffering from atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, acne vulgaris, sclerodermia and ichthyosis. At the close of the article is published a study, which evaluate the effect of 3-weeks complex balneotherapy in children suffering from atopic dermatitis with SCORAD (SCORing Atopic Dermatitis) - there was 84,56 % improvement (P < 0,0001) and with standardized questionnaire CDLQI (Children’s Dermatology Life Quality Index) - there was statistically significant improvement of quality of life.
