Angioedema as a main sign of chronic spontaneous urticaria – case report
Introduction: Recurrent urticaria is a common cause of dermatovenerological as well as immunoallergological examinations. Although angioedema does not occur in most patients, eventually is accompanied by urticaria, it can be an isolated manifestation in some patients. Case report: In the case report, we describe the case of a patient with recurrent angioedema with pruritus and a partial response to antiallergic treatment. After a lengthy diagnostic process, a diagnosis of chronic spontaneous urticaria was made, and due to the absence of a 4-fold antihistamine therapy effect, biological treatment was successfully indicated. Conclusion: Chronic spontaneous urticaria should be considered in patients with recurrent angioedema, but bradykinin-mediated forms of angioedema should be ruled out based on medical history and selected laboratory tests as well.
