Anaesthetist and professional risk

Anaesthetist is during his practice exposed to professional risks. They are biological factors as bacteria, viruses, yeasts, parasites and protozoa. Those factors can in anaesthetists cause infections, allergic reactions, autoimmune diseases, tumours, malformations. They are also anaesthetic gases, muscle and joints diseases, allergy to latex, ionising radiation, diathermia and laser, electromagnetic field, air condition, lighting, compressed gases, risks associated with organisation and type of work, insufficient evaluation. Excessive psychical load, which can result to stress and burnout syndrome is also a risk. Because of accumulation of more risk factors anaesthesiology and intensive care has to be according the regulation No 448/2007 classified as 3rd work category. The aim of this publication is to point out to this fact.
