Anaesthesia for Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease – case report

Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease is uncommon hereditary motor and sensory neuropathy. Authors choose for scheduled surgery for rectal tumour resection general anaesthesia with total intravenous anaesthesia technique. Propofol and sufentanil was used and for neuromuscular blockade authors used rocuronium in two repeat doses 0.167 mg/kg body weight before intubation. Level of neuromuscular blockade was monitored during procedure. They did not need other administration of relaxants. They used sugammadex in dose 2 mg/kg body weight on antagonise of relaxation. Patient was recovered in early post-anaesthetic hours and later days without any residual activity of anaesthetics and other complications in her co-existing disease.
