VACCINATION – BEST PRACTISE IN INFLUENZA PREVENTION

Influenza belongs to the seasonal crucial respiratory disease with sporadic, epidemic or pandemic outbreaks. Vaccination against influenza represents a key in epidemiological measures. Good selection of vaccine and correct application is very important. Vaccination protects healthy people against infection, elderly people and people at high risk condition are protect against infection or can avoid severe influenza and its complication and decrease number of death. Restriction of spreading influenza depends on vaccination coverage in population and on vaccination coverage of people at risk. The effort of WHO and member states is increasing vaccination coverage elderly and people in risk to 75 % by 2010.
