OBSESSIVE-COMPULSIVE DISORDER
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (in older terminology obsessive neurosis) belongs to the most common mental diseases. Clinical picture is usually specific. Despite to it disease is in patient often not detected a not properly treated. It is usually chronic disorder. Optimal treatment for majority of patients is provided by combination of psychotherapy and psycho-pharmacotherapy. Current guidelines recommend as the drug of the first choice selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI) and cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy (CBT).
