CERVICAL CARCINOMA AND HPV INFECTION

The sexually transmitted HPV infection is the fundamental etiological factor of cervical carcinoma. Its incidence is still high despite of all the effective screening methods meant for its early diagnostics. Today the possibilities of uterine cervix carcinoma prevention are enhanced by effective vaccination against HPV. Thus, in the near future, we will be able to reduce the incidence of this disease. However, the classical prebioptical diagnostic methods will still have their place in the prevention of the disease.
