ASTHMA UNDER CONTROL: DO WE KNOW WHAT IS IT AND HOW TO DO IT?

Despite bronchial asthma is chronic inflammatory disorder of lower airways significantly interfering with quality of life; modern pharmacotherapy and complex management enable full-value life for most sufferers. Original classification to intermittent, mild, moderate and severe persistent asthma was scaled up with newer one according to asthma control. The concept of asthma control is well established by our allergists and pneumologists, but its interpretation may be unclear to general practitioners or internal medicine doctors. This review article focuses on utilisation of this term and its application in practice.
